The Western and Northern EU had the largest and smallest GDP respectively both five and ten years ago.

In absolute terms, the Northern EU had the worst performance over the past five years with a gain of €130,294.40 million. The Western EU had the best performance with a gain of €1,173,467.20 million. Over the past ten years, the Southern EU had the worst performance with a gain of €217,770.40 million while the Western EU had the best performance with a gain of €2,713,083.60 million.
In relative terms, the Southern EU had the worst performance over the past five years with a 5.18% rise in GDP while the Eastern EU had the best performance with a 31.55% rise in GDP. Over the past ten years, the Southern EU had the worst performance with a 6.95% rise in GDP while the Eastern EU had the best performance with a 47.25% rise in GDP.
